Hanging With The Boys

It is the end of the academic year, meaning that everyone is packing up and going home. This includes all of my girl friends that keep me company on a regular basis both during the day and on nights out (the all important toilet trips, of course). Now that my girlies are at home and have left me with the boys, I have found myself having to adapt to a new way of life. One where I can't talk about make-up or clothes without having eyes rolled at me. A life where watching sports will always come above going shopping. A life where beer is the chosen drink over cocktails. However what didn't change was the talk about New Girl, gotta love a bit of Schmidt!

After dreading the prospect of having to spend 2 weeks doing "laddish" activities, I have found myself loving hanging with the boys. They have made the last couple of days extremely enjoyable. They tentatively taught me how to play poker and I ended up runner up in the game. Do they call it runner up? Second place? Looser? Anyway, I missed out on the £10 prize, but after a 2 hour game, ending at 3 am, I was less than caring about money and was yearning for bed.

They took me to Walkabout to watch the rugby. Hands were slammed on tables and voices raised when "our team" did something wrong (I wouldn't know, me and the rules of rugby are new friends), Chants were sung and I had beer thrown over my white shirt. Lesson learnt. Never wear white shirts when surrounded by boys.

It has been quite warm recently in Bournemouth so we took advantage of the weather and headed down to the beach. They all went off to play rugby while I watched on being the "ref". I had the easy job of laying down, eating an ice-cream and laughing at them running into each other and fighting over whether they had scored tries or not. Once they had tired of that we all sat and tried to did the deepest holes we could, the only rule being that they needed to be "bollox deep", a measurement that I found difficult to comprehend. In the process of hole digging I broke some of my nails and made my finger bleed. Were they sympathetic towards this.. NO! It was a great afternoon and my hole was totally the deepest even if they didn't agree.

Boys aren't so scary after you get used to their vulgar sense of humour and their love of playing video games and all things violent. I actually might miss the boys over the summer.

SUMMER

Last week was a momentous one.
I did my last exam, which could only mean one thing.
last week I finished my 1st year of uni. OH MY GOD.

"YOUR FREEEEEEEEEE TO DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO"

I havent done a post in about 3 weeks because of studying for exams and generally being busy celebrating the end of the year and the end of life as a fresher. I don't even feel guilty for not posting anything which is quite strange for me. I normally get a naggy voice reminding me to write a blog post after a couple of days but recently that voice has gone and I have been more focused on the world and people around me. I quite like it that way, so I might write posts about my adventures... if thats alright with y'all.

My (slight) Ryan Gosling Obsession..

Its finally time to admit it: I have a serious problem with looking/ staring/ drooling over Ryan Gosling. I am NOT kidding when I say that this has to be the most fun I have ever had doing a post. I have shamelessly spent hours and hours looking at videos and pictures of Ryan Gosling to put into this post.... and to be honest I don't regret a second of it. He is just so damn good looking!!

I don't think I have quite reached the title of 'stalker', I am no where near that. I couldn't tell you where he lived..even though I know he lives in New York...aha totally contradicting myself there, huh? I couldn't tell you when his birthday is or what his middle name is. To be honest I don't know a whole lot about Ryan Gosling at all but I could stare at him all day long and never get tired of him.. And what, may I ask, is so wrong with that?

I bet you guys all love to look at hot men all the time too. I know it's not just me, of course its not! who are your celebrity crushes?

The first time I saw Ryan Gosling was with millions of other people, in The Notebook. Along with millions of other girls I fell in love with Ryan's character Noah. Yes, I know that was just a film and characters like that don't really exist in the 'real world' but it got me thinking, what if there is actually someone out there like Noah!? And as I have not found that person yet I am just going to fill the blank space with Ryan Gosling and what my extensive research for this post has shown to me is how down to earth, swarve and cool he is. He is my perfect guy. He acts, He sings, he breaks up fights in the middle of the street and stops people from being run over by cars. Who wouldn't love someone like that?

I am pretty sure that my friends and family are pretty fed up of Ryan Gosling. I watch too many films with him in. I even went to see a film yesterday, 'A Place Beyond The Pines', because it had Ryan in it. I just like to stare at his face, okay!!?.. and it is a very enjoyable experience, especially if the film is a good'un too. Unless it's 'Drive', the film people rave about, which I absolutely HATED. I can't watch it, even with his pretty face in it. Sorry Ryan. He just bashes people's heads in with his foot, and its horrible. NOT cool Ryan, not cool!

So even though I know he is going out with Eva Mendes and they make a lovely couple together (*sobbing*) I would just like to say that.. Ryan, if on the off chance one day you are for some reason reading through blogs, come across this post and read this AND you and Eva are no longer seeing each other, I just want to let you know. I am single. I am here as a shoulder to cry on. I think your'e pretty darn HOT cool...Also, I don't care that I have a serious problem with looking/ staring/ drooling at you.. because lets face it, you'll never know. 

P.S- I totally just used my 'reliable source', Wikipedia, to find out all I could on Ryan Gosling..
